The first book I’m recommending for your reading pile is the beautifully written, heartwarming and funny, The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives by Lola Shoneyin. It is a clever tale, set in Nigeria, about the four very different wives of the egotistical and slightly dim, Baba Segi. The story is expertly told through the voices of all five characters, it has humour, tragedy and secrets, and I found it hugely entertaining.
